Anvil Concert Review

This past Friday night, Canadian metal band Anvil made a stop in St. Louis. They played in front of a fairly large crowd at one of St. Louis's top concert venues, The Pageant. The crowd was full of metal-heads of all ages and while it was obvious that most of the fans there had never heard of Anvil before the documentary "Anvil! The Story of Anvil", they were loud and into every note the band ripped out.

Back The Way You Like It

The Southern California rock band Adema has reunited with singer Marky Chavez. The band is set to start recording a new album soon. Here is a song from Adema's debut S/T album. Adema - The Way You Like It

Quantum Jump

Without a doubt, this is one of the strangest songs off all time. Quantum Jump - Lone Ranger.

Snappin' Necks

Prong are hard aggressive and in your face. This song is the perfect example of that.

Live Gonzo

Ted Nugent is know more today for his politics. He never at a loss for words when it come to politics, hunting, or the right to bear arms. However, Ted is a very accomplished guitar player. Most people know Cat Scratch Fever and Stranglehold, but the had quite a few other good songs in the 70's. Here is one you don't hear on classic rock stations or see him play in concert anymore, Sweet Sally.

Still Standing

Candlebox were unfortunate victims of the grunge movement. Their problem was that being from Seattle in the early 90's they were considered grunge. The band didn't fit the label and when grunge went away so did their popularity. Candlebox was much more than a grunge band. They were a hard rock band with blues influence. They deserved more recognition for songwriters and artist than they received. After three albums (Candlebox, Lucy and Happy Pills) and some very good success ("You" and "Cover Me" both reached the billboard top 100) the band broke up in 2000.

The band got beck together in 2008 sounding better than ever. Their album Into The Sun was released that year and a tour followed. The guys are currently working on an album due out this year. Let's hope they stay on track with their last album. "Stand" was the first single from Into The Sun. Here it is.
