When I Get Loose

Primer 55 came out as rap metal was losing it's stream. It was starting to get watered down and most of the bans were sounding the same. Primer 55 was different though. Their debut album, Introduction To Mayhem might have sounded similar to some of ther other groups that were around at the time, but the energy of their live shows was not comparable. With their second album, New Release they expanded their sound even further away from the rap metal scene and add a little jazz and blues flavor to the thick rock sound. Unfortunately as the band was truly starting to grow musically, their personal differences got in the way and they split up.

The band's biggest hit was the song Loose. The video was filmed in and around Pop's in Sauget, IL just outside of St. Louis, MO. I was at the concert, which they filmed the live shots. The concert was insane. The crowd was crazy and the band was at their best. It's unfortunate that they broke up, because I think they were hitting their groove musically and could have been somewhat successful. Here is the video for Loose.
